1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom

This guitar is the king of all the Les Pauls, Gibson's top-of-the-line Les Paul, the Cadillac of guitars, a Rock'n Roll icon and favorite among rockers like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Lindsey Buckingham, The Edge, Randy Rhodes, Marc Bolan, Billy Gibbons, Joe Walsh and Jeff Beck, just to name a few. The Les Paul Custom was first introduced in 1954 and affectionately nicknamed the Black Beauty and the Fretless Wonder. Now half a century later, she's still a beauty and a wonder.

This guitar has really lived up to its mythology. It certainly is its own animal - slightly more bassy than other Les Pauls, but the tone remains pure and remarkable. The T-Top humbuckers compliment this guitar well. It produces full, round and clear tone with great depth and dimension. Full mids and sparkling highs. It has a warm low end, deep and mellow paired with a piercing high lead voice, beautiful tone, brilliant shimmering treble and endless sustain. The neck is a full, rounded profile with rounded shoulders and is very comfortable. It's not quite as large as a '57 Reissue. The action is set low and fast and she's a blast to play! This guitar will take you anywhere you want to go!

This 1977 model was manfactured at the original Gibson Kalamazoo Plant where some of the worlds finest instruments were born! This guitar appears to be ALL ORIGINAL and in EXCELLENT condition! And for a hard rockin' beauty, that's a wonder! The Wine Red finish is very rare, very beautiful and thin, so it really shows off the grain of the wood as well as let's the tone ring through. The serial number (73417075) and the pots (1377725) all correctly date this guitar to 1977. The thickness of the neck measures .892 at the 1st fret and .958 at the 12th. The frets are in excellent shape and have plenty of life in them. This guitar has been loved and well cared for! She's a collectors prize and a players dream! Complete with the OHSC!
