2011 Gibson Custom Les Paul SG Standard VOS

You don't have to be a Southern Legend to appreciate the sound and the soul of the SG Standard. This sculptured, fast-playing, versatile high-power classic has been driving rock, pop and blues for 40 years. It's one of the all-time hard rockin' favorites. Originally intended to bring a new style to the Les Paul line, the SG was renamed, in 1963. Players like Duane Allman, Gary Rossington, Pete Townshend, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Jerry Garcia and many others changed the shape of music with this "Horny Devil"

This amazing re-creation includes pickups and long neck tenon modeled precisely on the original. Finished in Faded Cherry with the VOS aging treatment that makes the guitar look exactly like a vintage original instrument that's been treated with loving care for its whole life. With its ultra-thin, double-cutaway body, the SG was lighter than the Les Paul and allowed freer access to the upper register, both features that rockers immediately appreciated. This reissue guitar weighs 6 lbs 2.5 oz. It's super light and super resonate! The thickness of the neck measures .88 at the first fret and .92 at the 12th.
