The Precision Bass is the most popular electric bass of all time. Introduced in November 1951 as the first electric bass, the P Bass has remained in constant production to this day. From Rockabilly to Funk to Surf to Metal, this model has long been a favorite of rock bassists because of its fat, punchy, driving sound. The Motown sound would not have been possible were it not for James Jamerson's driving rhythms on his '56 P Bass. And, who can forget Donald "Duck" Dunn's amazing bass lines with the Blues Brothers and Booker T & The MG'S?

This Big Tex '56 P Bass is all that and more! It has a beautiful sunburst finish and a gold anodized pickguard, relic'd to look like a treasured original and lightweight, weighing 8 lbs 11.5 oz. It's got that fat, punchy driving tone and a fat neck for just the right feel. This bass is brand new and comes complete with a lightweight and easy to carry gig bag. This is the heart of the band!
